SANDERSVILLE, MS (WDAM) - A former Laurel police officer is now chief of police in Sandersville and looks forward to the challenges presented by a new casino.

Tony Hosey, a 21-year police veteran, is working hard to get his Sandersville Police Department ready for the up-and-coming Bok Homa Casino.

Hosey's department consists of 12 officers, nine of them part-time.

Hosey is replacing former chief Ronnie Hall.

Hosey said, "We have a good little department. It is probably going to grow a little bit with the additional people that are going to be coming through our town, so we are excited about that."

Hosey said he is hoping to add more officers once the casino opens in mid-December.
