HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) - Visit Hattiesburg announced Tuesday the city will soon be hosting a free exhibition featuring the work of nearly sixty southern artists.

The show titled Tradition / Innovation will highlight master artists and crafts people from nine southeastern states. Pieces like ceramics, instruments and baskets make up the exhibit located at the Hattiesburg Train Depot.

Visit Hattiesburg, a Hub City tourism organization, is sponsoring the show with support from the city, Hattiesburg Downtown Association and the Hattiesburg Arts Council. Rick Taylor is the Executive Director of Visit Hattiesburg.

"Another exciting part is that all of this artwork is by artists who are alive today. The oldest piece is from 1970 and the newest piece is from 2007," said Taylor.

The exhibit debuts November third and runs through December nineteenth. Exhibit hours are ten to four PM Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. Ten to six PM on Thursday and one to four PM on Sunday. Admission is free but donations are accepted.
