WDAM Viewpoint- Ask Candidates Questions

Posted: Updated:

On November 2nd one race everyone will be watching will be the District 4 Congressional race.

The incumbent is Democrat Gene Taylor and he is in what may be the toughest fight of his many years in office.  His Republican challenger is Steve Palazzo…like Taylor a native of the Mississippi Gulf Coast.  Libertarian candidate, Tim Hampton of Hattiesburg is also challenging Taylor.  We had hoped to be able to bring you a debate among these candidates but unfortunately that didn't work out.  Therefore WDAM is bringing you the candidates one by one this week…On News Seven Today.  Wednesday we will feature Gene Taylor, Thursday Steve Palazzo and Friday Tim Hampton.  You will be able to e-mail or text your questions while the candidates are live on the air each morning between 6 and 7.  Seven On Your Side News will also be taping person on the street questions to run during their appearances.  This is a critical race and involves a very large segment of our viewing area.  You deserve to hear the candidates answer your questions so that you can cast an informed vote next Tuesday.  Be sure to tune in to News 7 Today and be ready with your questions this Wednesday, Thursday and Friday as we speak to a congressional district four candidate each day.  I'm Jim Cameron and that's today's Viewpoint.
