"Hitch" Pet of the Week for 10-21-10

By Jeff Daley – email

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Four year old "Hitch" is the Southern Pines Animal Shelters Pet of the week. He came from a loving home but his owners couldn't afford to care for him anymore so they brought him to the shelter.

Hitch is a mix breed terrier. He is extremely loveable and cuddly. He loves to play, he's housebroken, and will make a great companion for a family or single person. He weighs about 13 pounds and won't get any bigger.

Because he is an older dog his adoption fee has been cut in half to $35, part of a special running at the shelter for dogs four and older and those who have been at the shelter for a long time.

He has already been neutered, has all his shots, he's been micro chipped for permanent identification and has been worm tested.

The shelter has recently expanded their hours. They are now open Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday from 10:00am to 6:00pm, Tuesday, 10:00am to 3:00pm, and Saturday, 10:00am to 2:00pm. They are located at 1901 North 31st Avenue in Hattiesburg, right behind Antonelli College.
