Going backwards to move forward

I'm not thrilled to post a picture right now, but, since I did commit to posting one per month and then didn't for four months, I figure it's time. I'm not thrilled to post a picture right now, but, since I did commit to posting one per month and then didn't for four months, I figure it's time.

This week was somehow both better and worse than I expected it would be as far as my diet went.

I indulged, as planned, at my carb-loading pasta dinner before last weekend's Avon Walk for Breast Cancer and ate a few more snacks than I should have during the walk.  But I was very conscientious on Monday and then, on Tuesday, I surprised myself by signing up for Weight Watchers online again.

There must be something in the air because at least 2 other friends at work are also trying to get back on track with their weight loss efforts, whether it's using Weight Watchers or just counting calories.

One of the nice things about Weight Watchers is no matter how many times you quit and re-join, the system saves your information.  So even though in a lot of ways I feel like I'm starting over, the site shows me that I'm still down more than 50 pounds since I started on this journey almost three years ago.  It's helpful to have that reminder that I've done this, I haven't undone all of it, and I can do it again.

I've also "reset" my "Get Back on Track!" month to start today.  In wanting to synch up with a calendar month, I probably didn't think things through as well as I should have in planning to be very strict with my diet when I had a bunch of special occasions coming up.

Now I've got exactly one month until I leave on a cruise with my family with no majorly distracting events to derail me.  I'll deal with a plan to stay on track on the cruise as I get closer to our embarkation, but, for now, it's just a circled day on the calendar to end the month.

My special goal for this week (besides sticking to my Points) is to get to the gym at least one time in addition to my sessions with my trainer!
