HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM - More than 350 people turned out for the Forrest General Hospital 3rd annual Mississippi Diabetes Walk.
In anticipation of a large turnout the event was held at Pride Field on the campus of Southern Miss. In the two previous years it had been held at the Long Leaf Trace Gateway.
Teams of walkers were at the event to raise money for diabetes research and increase awareness about the disease that affects more than 340,000 Mississippians
All the money raised in the event goes to help battle the disease right here in the state.
