JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Jones County officials say vandalism to county road signs is becoming a major problem.

Jones County Sheriff Alex Hodge said unknown individuals are ripping road signs out of the ground throughout the county.

Supervisors said it costs nearly $100 to replace a stop sign, and that is eating into an already tight budget.

Hodge said the vandalism is not only a problem for supervisors but also for first responders.
