LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - One of the four candidates running for the office of Mississippi's 4th Congressional District Representative in the U.S. Congress opened a campaign office in Laurel Friday.
Steven Palazzo held a ribbon cutting for his campaign headquarters along Hwy 15 and Old Amy Road. About 20 supporters were able to meet and question him one-on-one about issues facing the country.
Palazzo told the crowd "it's time to fire Pelosi and take our country back."
He said, incumbent Congressman Gene Taylor is no longer voting like a South Mississippian.
Palazzo said, "Just because he voted against something when we are watching, voting no is no longer enough for South Mississippi. We want somebody that is going to go up there and fight for our families and fight for our values and principles and protect our jobs and protect our borders here in Mississippi as well."
The election for U.S. Congress is on November 2nd.
