Long time Hattiesburg judge dies

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Longtime Chancery Judge James H.C. Thomas of Hattiesburg passed away Friday morning after an extended illness.

The 71-year-old Thomas served as a 10th district chancery judge since 1994.

His district included Forrest, Perry, Lamar, Marion, and Pearl River Counties.

Thomas graduated from Hattiesburg High School in 1957 and USM in 1961. He received his law degree from Tulane university in 1964.

Hulett-Winstead Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
