School gets life-saving donation from Kiwanis Club

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Dubard School for Language Disorders at Southern Miss has received a donation that could save the life of a student, teacher or parent. Thursday, school administrators got an automated external defibrillator from the Hattiesburg Kiwanis Club.

The device is used to help someone suffering from a heart attack.

The donation is part of a program by the Kiwanis Club to place at least one in each school in Mississippi.

Each automated external defibrillator costs about $1,400.
