Hattiesburg Gold Star Mothers honored

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Three Hattiesburg area gold star mothers were honored at the African American Military History Museum.

Annie Lamar, DeEster Burkett and Patricia Davis were each giving a special tribute for the sacrifice their sons made in the Vietnam and the Iraq war.

During the ceremony the gold star mothers were presented with a proclamation from the forrest county board of supervisors and three benches were dedicated to each mother.

After the ceremony the mothers were presented with one last token of appreciation...three gold stars.

All three mother said that the ceremony meant a lot to them.
