Aviation artist hosting exhibit at Shelby museum

CAMP SHELBY, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg aviation artist known for his depictions of Tuskegee Airmen in combat is displaying his work at the Mississippi Armed Forces Museum at Camp Shelby. Clint Martin is showing about one dozen works this week.

Most depict aerial combat scenes involving American aircraft from World War Two. Martin is also autographing prints.

Several local veterans are co-hosting the exhibit. Martin hopes museum visitors will enjoy these works.

"I would hope that they would take away the history of what these guys contributed to the well-being of this country," Martin said.

"This is history that I'm representing," said Harvell Harris of Hattiesburg, one of the World War Two veterans co-hosting the exhibit. "So, this is why, when I'm asked to do something or be somewhere, I try to cooperate, because it's for a benefit," Harris said.

Martin will autograph prints tomorrow from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
