HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Tuesday night the Hattiesburg City Council made its latest move in a game that's been going on for years with Comcast cable.

The council approved an agreement put together by the cable advisory board, that's 18-months in the making. Instead of negotiating the details with Comcast, the council wanted to do it "as is" to preserve its integrity.

"We should be as a city very thankful to the gentlemen that served on that committee, a lot of knowledge and time went into it and they are looking out for the best interest of the citizens and the quality of service that we receive from Comcast and that's what we want to see improved and that's what the agreement will hopefully begin and put into place," said Council President Kim Bradley.

Comcast has 30 days to respond and if it doesn't, the matter could wind up in court.
