CLINTON, Miss. (AP) - A body believed to be that of an 81-year-old woman who disappeared in central Mississippi has been found.
Clinton Police Chief Don Byington says the body was found Friday night after a farmer near Edwards noticed an odor when he went to tend his hogs.
The farmer informed police and officers found the body. An autopsy will be performed to determine whether the body is that of Ethel Winstead Simpson, who has been missing since Monday.
A man suspected of being involved in the disappearance was arrested Friday in Alabama on charges of robbing and stabbing a man.
