Two men arrested in Waynesboro for counterfeiting

WAYNESBORO, MS (WDAM) - Two men are behind bars facing federal counterfeiting charges after being arrested by Waynesboro Police.

Waynesboro Senior Investigator Wesley Waites said Cameron Stevens, 23, Davin Pierre, 24, both of Miami were arrested Monday after passing several counterfeit $100 bills at  local businesses.  

Authorities were notified of the counterfeit bills by bank officials after deposits from both businesses were processed. 

After reviewing surveillance video, authorities were able to identify one of the suspects.  

A short time later both suspects were arrested at a local strip mall and are currently being held in Jackson.

Authorities said this investigation is ongoing.
