Barbour calls special session to address bio-refinery

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Governor Haley Barbour has called a special legislative session for Friday to address a $50 million incentive package to bring a bio-refinery to Mississippi.

A bio refinery that uses wood as its biomass to make fuel is something Barbour wants in the magnolia state.

Glenn Hughes is a forestry extension professor with Mississippi State. He says oil can be extracted from wood through a variety of chemical processes.
