Hattiesburg city employee arrested in connection to HPD break in

Hattiesburg, (WDAM)- 7 on your side has learned a Hattiesburg city employee is now connected with the break in at HPD headquarters... That employee is now in the Forrest county jail.

Cheryl Fluker who manages the city's action center hotline was arrested over the weekend. Police say Fluker was charged with furnishing a prohibited item to an inmate.  We're told that item was a cell phone. She was also charged with accessory after the fact in connection with the police department break in.  At this point the exact connection is unknown.  Investigators are still putting together the pieces of that puzzle. On a note of reference, the action center is located inside the police department. Fluker has worked for the city of Hattiesburg for 9 years.

City spokeswoman Jeanetta Bennett says because this is a personnel issue within the city, she can't comment on  Fluker's current employment status with city.  Fluker could face up to 25 years on both counts. We'll continue to follow this story... And give you the developments are we get them.
