Palmer's residents get free shoes

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Mississippi church has partnered with a national charity to bring free shoes to needy families in the Hub City. Dozens of families collected some of the 450 pairs of shoes that were given away Friday afternoon at the Eagle Wings Estates Apartments in the Palmer's Crossing community.

They were provided by Charlotte, North Carolina-based, Samaritan's Feet and were distributed by Hattiesburg city officials, volunteers and members of Jackson's, New Horizon Church International.

This was the first time the church and the charity have donated shoes to Hattiesburg residents.
