200 freshmen enroll at William Carey University

By Karrie Leggett

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM)- William Carey University has 200 new crusaders to add their roster.

Freshmen moved into their new home away from home today at William Carey. Student Government Association Students helped the new freshmen move in and find their way to Smith Auditorium for orientation.

There, students had the opportunity to ask questions about the university and the upcoming semester. The students also received their William Carey T-shirts which they will wear to the Fall Convocation Monday.

Student Government President, Mark Wooten, says that Orientation is about more than just checking into the university.

"We just make sure they know that there are a lot of chances to get involved. There are a lot of organizations of every kind, whether it is music, physical activity, or marshal arts. We have all kinds of organizations and we want them to know that there are plenty of opportunities for them to get involved with us,"said Wooten.

The arrival of the new freshmen bring enrollment up eleven percent for the University.
