Lamar County,MS (WDAM) - The Lamar County Board of Supervisors learned they will finally be reimbursed by FEMA for hurricane related road repairs.

Board members voted to accept $119,153 form the Federal Emergency Management Agency as partial reimbursement for repair work the county did to portions of Jude Yawn Road, Johnson Road, Monroe Creek Road, North Mill Creek, Luther Saucier, Little Creek and Carroll Road.

The roads were damaged by heavy dump trucks transporting debris after Hurricane Katrina.

Lamar county Administrator Chuck Bennett said, FEMA initially denied the county's claim stating the  had already been reimbursed but Bennett appealed it saying the county had to repair some roads twice.
