HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A local church is making sure some underprivileged children have what they need to succeed when they go back to school. Grace Temple Church in Hattiesburg hosted it's annual, "Backpack Outreach" Saturday morning for the children of Greenbriar Apartments and the Hope Drive community.
125 backpacks full of school supplies were given out free for children in grades 1-through-12.
The church also provided hot dogs and games for the kids.
It's the 7th year the church has hosted the event.
