Kickoff for Hattiesburg National Night Against Crime Thursday

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The kickoff for the National Night Out Against Crime in Hattiesburg is Thursday, July 30 at 5:30 p.m. starting at City Hall.

Mayor Johnny Dupree will lead a parade from the steps of City Hall to Town Square Park on the corner of Main and Buschman Streets.

Forrest County Deputy Sheriff Sherman Heathcock is the featured speaker for the event. Heathcock and his family were the recipients of a new home on the Extreme Makeover: Home Edition last year.

Tune into WDAM News tonight at 6 p.m. Anchor and reporter Colleen Donovan will bring you some of the festivities live from the event.

    The new Miss Hospitality has been crowned in Hattiesburg.  She is Emma Grace McGrew, 18, of Booneville.
