HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The mother of a 4-year-old child who was allegedly severely abused at the hands of five other adults in Hattiesburg went before a judge pleading guilty.

Jamie Pittman's arrest came after the arrest of the five others back in October, all of whom were living in a home on North 25th Avenue.

Police say that's where the boy, along with 9 other children were also staying. Police say the boy was covered with new and old bruises, marks, cuts and abrasions as well as cuts on his head and body, broken teeth with damaged gums and internal abdominal injuries caused by blunt trauma.

Pittman, who wasn't at the home during the time, pleaded guilty to a felony count of contributing to the neglect of a child. Sentencing will happen at a later date. Court dates for the other five suspects are upcoming.
