Hattiesburg teenager sentenced to 20 years, only 7 to serve

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - A Hattiesburg teenager charged with shooting another juvenile will spend the next 7 years behind bars.

Anthony Crosby, who was 16 at the time of the crime and charged as an adult, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault after police say he shot a female in the head with a handgun on Arledge Street back in June of 2009.

The victim was in critical condition for a while, but lived. Crosby was sentenced to 20 years for the crime, with only 7 years to serve.

Crosby was also ordered to pay fines and restitution as well as obtain his GED while in prison.
