Miss Hospitality contestants arrive Sunday

HATTIESBURG, MS (HATTIESBURG CONVENTION COMMISSION) - Young ladies from across Mississippi will be in Hattiesburg to begin their journey towards becoming 2010's Mississippi Miss Hospitality.  Twenty-nine girls will check in at 1 p.m. at McCarty Hall on the campus of the University of Southern Mississippi.   This will be their home for the next week as they live, work and learn about the pageant and the State of Mississippi.  After checking in, they will kick off a week of events with an orientation at the Saenger Theater, followed with rehearsals.

All week the contestants will be experiencing everything the Hub City has to offer.  On Monday at 11 a.m., the Board of Directors will be hosting a ‘"meet the miss hospitalities" press conference for the media at the Saenger Theater.  On Tuesday at 8 a.m. they will be taking a city tour, highlighting the Visitor Center, the Hattiesburg Zoo, and Forrest General Hospital.  Throughout the week they will be rehearsing for the pageant at the Saenger Theater.

Tickets for the pageant are on sale now and can be purchased by calling the Saenger Theater at 601-584-4888 or online at www.MissHospitality.com. Tickets are $13 for general reserved, $18 for premiere reserved for each night.

    Southern Miss looks to add a Conference USA tournament title to its regular season crown this week in Biloxi. The Golden Eagles (39-15, 23-6 C-USA) open tournament play against UAB on Wednesday at 4 p.m. inside MGM Park. "Certainly, this tournament it's no different than a regional atmosphere, that's what it's about,” said USM head coach Scott Berry.
