HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Last weeks free lunch Friday at United Blood Services of Hattiesburg was a huge success. More than sixty people donated blood and got free lunch from Chik Fil-A

It was such a big success they are doing more.

The shelves at the center are nearly bare and need filling badly.

On Wednesday and Friday of this week and next week they are holding more free lunch events at their center at 805 South 28th Avenue in Hattiesburg.  Those that donate blood on Wednesday from 11:00 a.m.to 2:00 p.m. will get free lunch from Lenny's Sub Shop.

They will also get a free watermelon, t-shirt and be entered in a drawing for a free Disney vacation.

Also on Wednesday a second special blood drive will happen at the center from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. for Mike Rose.  Rose is the Hattiesburg business owner who was seriously injured in an automobile accident earlier this month.

The Mississippi All-Stars wrapped up its third practice at Hattiesburg High school ahead of the 31st Mississippi/Alabama All-star game on Saturday at noon. Although Saturday’s contest at Southern Miss’ M.M. Roberts Stadium in Hattiesburg is just an exhibition, the Mississippi players are taking it seriously.
