Mississippi escaped convict captured

JACKSON, Miss. (AP) - An inmate who escaped from a Mississippi

work center June 24 has been captured in Illinois.

The Mississippi Department of Corrections says Charles Ray

Warren was taken back into custody without incident Friday evening

in Lombard, Ill.

Warren will face felony escape charges when he's returned to

Mississippi.

He was serving a 5-year sentence for his conviction in Hinds

County for vehicle theft and malicious mischief. He escaped from a

Simpson County work center.

MDOC investigators worked with the Gulf Coast Regional Fugitive

Task Force in Oxford, Miss., to find where Warren had gone after

escaping. He was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service.

    Following a school-record 55 wins and run that ended in an 8-7 loss in the NJCAA national championship, Jones County Junior College softball is eager to open the 2018 season on February 3. Coming that close to the school’s first national title serves as motivation enough for the Lady Bobcats. Regardless, expectations are always high for coach Chris Robinson’s teams – JCJC is a combined 105-12 the last two seasons.
