LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Northbound traffic on I-59 in Laurel was brought to a standstill for about two hours Wednesday afternoon when a pick-up truck collided with a semi.
Jones County volunteer fire officials say about 2 p.m. a northbound 18-wheeler cab was hit by a southbound pick-up which had crossed the median.
The semi flipped over several times, landing just off the shoulder of the road. Both drivers were hurt and were taken to the hospital.
Their conditions are unknown.
Both northbound lanes of I-59 were shut down for several miles and traffic was diverted to Highway 11 until the scene was cleared.
