LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The city of Laurel plans installing digital LED advertising signs in the city if an upcoming ordinance passes.

The city of Laurel is looking to place the  signs within the city limits. The ordinance will give business owners the right to have more colorful signs and billboards.

Mayor Melvin Mack said several council members wanted to make the details of the signs more precise.

"There was some language in the order that stated the movement of the signs, different colors, how far they are spaced apart, so we are going to go back in tweak this and bring it back to the council," Mack said.

The council is expected to vote on the ordinance in two weeks.
