JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - Some concerned citizens in Jones County are upset over a proposed 27,000-squarefoot Bogue Homa Casino.

Tuesday morning, citizens spoke out against the Choctaw Tribe's plan to construct a metal building with a brick facade.

The casino will only be home to a snack bar, video slots, video poker, and video bingo. There will be no gaming tables, and the casino would not be able to serve any alcohol the first two years.

Some residents say a casino of that kind would only put the county in a financial bin. They urged supervisors to put a resolution in place opposing a casino in the county.

Supervisors voted 3 to 2 in favor of passing the resolution.
