PURVIS, MS (WDAM) - Two people were killed and one critically injured in a two car accident on I-59 near Purvis early Saturday morning.

The accident happened at around 12:30 A.M. in the north bound lane near mile marker 49.

The victims have been identified as 33 year old Chris Fiala, owner of Hub Bowling Lanes in Hattiesburg, and 26 year old Jeremy Williamson of Moselle.  The third victim is identified as Mike Rose, owner of Rose's  Barbeque on Highway 49 in Hattiesburg.  He is in critical condition in the intensive care unit at Forrest General Hospital.

Both vehicles were traveling north when Williamson's vehicle apparently clipped the back end of Rose's Chevy Tahoe causing it to roll several times.  Fiala and Rose were among six passengers in the Tahoe.  Neither Fiala nor Rose were reportedly wearing their seatbelts and were ejected from the vehicle.

Mississippi Highway Patrol blames excessive speed on the part of Williamson's vehicle as the cause of the accident.

None of the other passengers in the Tahoe were seriously injured.
