TAYLORSVILLE, MS (WDAM) - Some Pine Belt Bikers are raising money on behalf of a 9-year-old Taylorsville girl with an enlarged heart.

At Sawmill Square Mall in Laurel on Saturday the Pine Belt Unified Riders and The Miles Per Hour Motorcycle Club are holding a benefit ride to help the Gavin family.

At 9 months, Shemayia Gavin was diagnosed with dilated cardiamyopathy. Gavin has been taking medication since then, and now she is on the waiting list for a transplant.

In order for her to received the heart transplant her family must move to Arkansas.

The Gavins are in the process of moving, but say moving and paying for Shemayia's treatment is extremely difficult, but they're taking a leap of faith.
