Mississippi Lion's Band wins down under

SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA (WDAM) - For the 7th time in 8 years, The Mississippi Lion's Band has won top honors at an annual international Lion's Band competition.  The 144-member band took first place at an event this week in Australia. 

The band rehearsed for a week at Jones County Junior College before making the trip to Sydney.  

In the 59 years of Lion's Band competition, Mississippi has won 26 championships.

      Wdam spoke with the Richton library where they are in the process of creating a class for senior citizens to become more familiar with high tech. The library is striving to be a tech-savvy environment where not only teens but senior citizens can keep up with the advancement of technology through their cell phones or computers. They plan to create classes for senior citizens to prepare them to keep up with the wave. "We would schedule once or twice a week for three weeks....
