Lamar County man gets 15 years for fondling 13-year-old

PURVIS, MS (WDAM) - 25-year-old Michael Mullins was sentenced to 15 years, with 10 to serve after pleading guilty to the fondling of a then 13-year-old victim.

Lamar County District Attorney Hal Kittrell says a family took Mullins into their home after he fell on hard times and shortly after he began to engage in the crime.

Mullins was also ordered to pay more than $3,000 in fines and court costs as well as register as a sex offender.
