Hattiesburg Police capture wanted Tennessee man

 Hattiesburg, MS (WDAM)-A Tennessee man wanted for domestic violence and kidnapping his ex-girlfriend has been captured by Hattiesburg police.

Frederico Gonzalez Vasquez was fleeing from authorities of the Collegdale Police Department, just outside of Chatanooga Tennessee. Authorities have been on the hunt for the alleged fugitive for the past two days and say, Vasquez kidnapped his ex-girlfriend Frasisca Perez on Monday, June 21st  as she was leaving her job.

Perez was hiding from her ex-boyfriend after suffering several injuries from a June 14th assault. After crossing several state lines the two were located in Lamar County by Hattiesburg Police.

Vasquez is being held in Mississippi on felony kidnapping charges. Perez is safe and is being cared for by victim protection services.

    Checkpoints set up by the Perry County Sheriff's Office led to two drug arrests on Friday night. Perry County Deputies set up driver license checkpoints on Old River Road and Pumping Station Road.
