HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - The Hattiesburg Fire Department along with AAA Ambulance are teaming up for better plan of action in dealing with cardiac arrests and trauma .

With the first 5 minutes of such an event being the most critical, under the plan emergency responders will become more coordinated and efficient in dealing with response times and care.

Responders will go through enhanced training and education, making sure all involved are working in a way to better serve the public.

"It's not a new concept," said AAA Ambulance Director Wade Spruill. "Hattiesburg fire has worked with triple a for 43 years, ever since it started. What makes it different is it is formal for the first time and it has a plan that we'll all follow that has accountability in it and it has standards of treatment protocols."

Tis agreement plan will also include the Hattiesburg Police Department and has been in the works for two years.
