HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) - Southern Arena Theatre is back this summer at Southern Miss for it's 34th season with a production of William Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors."

The play features two sets of twins who live in the same community, but are unknown to each other. That creates some funny cases of mistaken identity for the audience.

Officials say due to university budget cuts, Southern Arena Theatre, or S-A-T as it's called has been scaled back to one show this year. However, they hope the joyous nature of this play will attract audiences that appreciate the value of high quality entertainment.

Trent Oldham, a USM graduate from Biloxi, is portraying one of the main characters in the play.

Oldham said, "I hope audiences react positively and I hope they come for a night of theater and a night of relaxation. With everything that is going on in the world and current events, I think this is a perfect opportunity for people to come to the theater, sit down and laugh."

William Shakespeare's "The Comedy of Errors" debut's Thursday, June 24th at 7:30pm at USM's Tatum Theatre. The show runs through July 4th. For more showtime information call the Southern Miss ticket office at 601-266-5418.
