HATTIESBURG, MS. (WDAM) - Class 32 of the Mississippi Youth Challenge program at Camp Shelby received a piece of paper some never thought they would, a diploma.
The program is 22 weeks of military based training and education designed for 16 to 19 year old youth who have dropped out of school. The training focuses on eight core components, leadership, service to community, job skills, education excellence, responsible citizenship, health, and physical fitness.
Two hundred and one young men and women from class 32 successfully completed the program and received their diplomas
The Mississippi Youth Challenge Program has been in existence since 1994 and has over 6000 graduates.
