Laurel close to choosing new school superintendent

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - The Laurel School Board has narrowed its search for a new superintendent to six candidates.

At least four of the candidates have ties to Laurel and Jones county.

The Interviews will be held at the Gardiner Administrative Building, which is located at 303 West 8th Street, Laurel. Interview questions should be mailed to Attorney Richard L. Yoder at P.O. Box 106, Laurel, MS 39441-0106 or emailed to rly@laurellaw.com. Anonymous questions will not be accepted.  The deadline for questions is Thursday, June 3rd  at 5pm.

Officials say individual interviews will begin the second week in June and will be open to the public. The new superintendent will replace Glen McGee who is retiring at the end of June.
