Former JCJC coach and Hattiesburg cop sentenced

Lamar County, MS (WDAM)- A former JCJC Cheerleading Coach and former Hattiesburg police officer charged with two counts of sexual battery was sentenced to 15 years in prison Thursday.

Terrance Shane Wagner pleaded guilty earlier this month to two counts of sexual battery on a juvenile.

Circuit Court Judge Prentiss Harrell sentenced Wagner to 15 years per count. Wagner is required to serve seven-and-a-half on each count to run consecutively, followed by five years post-release.

Wagner was also given a $1,500 fine and must register as a sex offender.
