JONES COUNTY, MS (WDAM) - An environmental study has been completed, and construction for a new Jones County Department of Human Services building could start by summer's end, officials said.
Jones County Board of Supervisor President Andy Dial said the environmental study's results were satisfactory.
"The DHS building will be located in Ellisville next to the jail," said Dial. "The county will start bidding the project out sometime next month."
Dial said the project has been delayed for too long, and it's important to get the new building up and workers in a safer environment.
