A former Turtle Creek Security Guard sentenced to 10 yrs.

Purvis, Ms (WDAM)- A former security guard at the Turtle Creek Mall charged for attempted statutory rape was sentenced today in Purvis.

Cody Perry was arrested back in March, 2008 for inappropriate sexual contact with a 13 yr old girl.

After reaching a plea deal on May 4th, Cody Perry, 22,  was sentenced by Circuit Court Judge Prentiss Harrell to 10yrs, with 7 served in a Mississippi State Penitentiary. Judge Harrell also ordered three years of post release supervision and Perry will be registered as a sex offender.

Perry was also ordered to pay a $1500 fine, $1400 in restitution as well as court costs.

The victim's family has also filed a civil lawsuit against CBL Inc.,  the company that owns the mall and ERMC, which is the Security company at the Turtle Creek Mall.
