Perry Co. DHS has new home

NEW AUGUSTA, MS (WDAM) - The Mississippi Department of Human Services in Perry County has a new home. Today, a ribbon was cut, officially opening a new building on 1st Street in New Augusta.

It was paid for with both federal and county funds. The new building is across the street from its former location.

Three types of programs will be offered there...economic assistance, family and childrens' services and child support services. 

The department's former location will be used by the county for office space and storage.
