Woman sentence in shooting death

JACKSON, MS (WDAM)  - A 46-year-old Bolton woman will serve 15 years in prison for the shooting death of a Jackson man who allegedly had an altercation with her brother.

The Clarion-Ledger reports Sarah Jean Mack pleaded guilty to the July 20, 2008, shooting of 31-year-old Larry Windham. Windham and Mack's brother were roommates at the time.

On Monday, Hinds County Circuit Judge Malcolm Harrison sentenced Mack to 20 years in prison, with five years suspended. She will be on five years' probation after her release.

Mack had been charged with murder. She pleaded to manslaughter, which carries a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison.
