MEMA hosts PIO training in Laurel

LAUREL, MS (WDAM) - Emergency services personnel from many parts of South Mississippi are gathered in Laurel to learn about effectively communicating with the public during an emergency. A public information officer training seminar is being held at the Jones County Emergency Operations Center.

Representatives from the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency are conducting the seminar.

They are focusing on basic skills and advanced technology training.

The course wraps up tomorrow.
