MSU President reaches out to community colleges

ELLISVILLE,MS (WDAM) - The president of the state's largest university was in the pine belt on Tuesday.

Mississippi State University President, Mark Keenum is hoping to build a partnership with community colleges.  Keenum visited Jones County Junior College where he spoke to about several dozen students.

Keenum stressed the importance of students furthering their education at four year institutions.

He said getting an education at a community colleges is a great way to prepare for pursuing a bachelors degree.
