HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - For the next 2 weeks, Hattiesburg residents can view a one-of-a-kind exhibit of sculptures which commemorate the centennial of the Hattiesburg Train Depot. The All Aboard Sculpture Exhibit in the grand hall of the depot features the works of 18 artists from this area and as far away as Montana and North Carolina.
A reception for the exhibit was held this evening. It runs through April 17th.
"These sculptures are all unique and were prepared for this exhibit," said Rick Taylor, executive director of Visit Hattiesburg. "Really, the only category or criteria they had was to recognize and symbolize the railroad," Taylor said.
The exhibit will be open from Tuesday through Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., with extended hours on April 17th to coincide with the Spring Art Walk.
