HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - An annual Easter egg hunt in Hattiesburg this morning left participants hunting for shelter just a few minutes after it started. The Lion's Club/City of Hattiesburg Easter Egg Hunt at Dahmer Park had barely begun when rain sent many parents and children scrambling for cover.
Despite the showers, most children left with baskets full of plastic eggs, filled with goodies. Thousand of the eggs were set out by volunteers on 2 baseball fields at the park.
This was the 63rd year for the Easter egg hunt, which began in 1947.
