Not Guilty

PURVIS, MS (WDAM) -A jury's verdict rules Jennifer Wardle is not guilty of murder.  She was accused of killing her boyfriend, Usm student James Neal May, with a gunshot to the head back in 2002. The death was originally ruled suicide, but 5 years later, the state attorney general reopened the case and indicted Wardel for murder. But after four days of testimony, and nearly 2 hours of deliberation... The jury found insufficient evidence to prove the charge.

The truth has set me free and God is going to get the glory and I hope that they can accept it," Wardle said.

Members of the May family declined to comment on the verdict.
