3 injured in Hattiesburg wreck

HATTIESBURG, MS (WDAM) - Three people were injured during an accident Tuesday afternoon on Highway 49 in south Hattiesburg.

The accident occurred around 1:00p.m. at the intersection of 49 and Tatum Boulevard. Witnesses told the police a white Cadillac traveling south on 49 attempted to make a left turn onto Tatum and crossed into the path of a north bound vehicle. 

The Cadillac left the road and traveled about 50 yards before crashing into a wooded area. The female driver was extricated from her vehicle.  All three of the injured were transported to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries.

    The University of Southern Mississippi Lady Eagles defeated the University of Alabama-Birmingham 80-63 Thursday night at Bartow Arena. It was USM’s most decisive win over the Lady Blazers in 11 years, and handed first-place UAB its first Conference USA loss of the year.
